Why I love my online travel business? I can tell you without hesitation that I never thought back in July 2007 when I began my first experience with network marketing, that just 14 short months later I would be writing about the great success I am experiencing with my home-based travel business.
I didn’t think it would happen this fast for several reasons. One being that this was my first real experience with network marketing or home-based businesses, so I didn’t have a Rolodex of contacts. Then there was the fact that I was (and still am) working full-time as mortgage planner, so I was building my business only part time. Another reason was that when I contacted my warm market, I got one rejection after another. Of course the infinite hours spent creating flyers, and passing them out on every car in a strip-mall parking lot and dead-end leads that came from those efforts also led me to the conclusion that my dreams of earning extra income was at least several years away. I never really thought that I would be enjoying my additional income so soon!
How did I do it? Did I get lucky on a few leads who turned in to super-recruiters? No. I learned how to build my business in a smart and effective way. I learned about how to use the power of the Internet to build my team. But far more importantly, I didn’t quit. So many people fail in this business because they quit too soon.
My advice to my fellow independent travel agents and RTA’s, is to stick with this business. Don’t quit. The only way to ensure your failure, is to quit. Re-dedicate yourself to your travel business. Take a vendor’s training course. Go to a training session. Learn how to market your travel business effectively, move forward, and do it!
My advice to those trying to determine if an internet travel business opportunity is legitimate…cast aside any lingering doubts and jump on in! Just make sure your sponsor builds the business the way you want to (either face-to-face or on the Internet). Most importantly, don’t let what others think affect your decision to throw yourself into the business and once you do, to give it 110%. If I listened to my family and friends, I would have missed out on some awesome vacations over the past year, and of course, my extra income! I must confess, the more they see my success and want it, the harder I work to succeed even more. Let those nay-sayers serve as a driving force propelling you to reach your goals.
